I am looking for an SEN Lecturer for an SEN college based in Bromley - PMLD/SLD/ASD. This will be a full time, permanent position 37hrs per week. Salary between £26,331 and £35,671.
I am looking to recruit an experienced Lecturer to join a fantastic team.
The College is located between Bromley South and Hayes and is a specialist day and residential education facility for c. 70 students aged 19 to 25 with a range of complex learning needs, physical disabilities and / or autism.
They are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring students receive the best possible curriculum experience and the highest quality of teaching that can be provided.
You will be responsible for planning, designing and delivering a life skills curriculum both on and off site to students with a range of complex learning, medical and behavioral needs, including autism.
The ideal SEN Lecturer will have:
Experience of teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, with moderate, severe or profound learning disabilities and behavioural and/or sensory needs.
You will have a Degree, QTS, Certificate of Education or Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning sector or equivalent.
Hold an advanced qualification in SEN or a commitment to obtaining such a qualification within three years of appointment.
Experience of leading and managing a staff team and group of learners.
SEN Lecturer Role Requirements:
To be responsible for the planning, design, documentation and delivery of programmes of study for a designated group of students and/or specific courses.
To secure effective arrangements for the teaching of the course through the efficient deployment and direction of members of the group team and the monitoring of their performance.
To monitor, assess, record and report on the progress of individual students in the form agreed by the College at regular intervals.
To take part in course development under the leadership of the Leader of Learning.
To ensure that new team members have appropriate induction and training plans.
To discharge all aspects of the requirements of a line manager in respect of members of your team including those of annual performance reviews, supervision meetings, support and guidance and the provision of advice about professional development.
To undertake a full teaching timetable and to make arrangements, in consultation with the Leader of Learning but within the course team, for cover arising from staff absence.
To secure arrangements for the pastoral care of students who are group members by the tutorial team and through liaison with their parents/carers and other agencies in accordance with agreed College policies and procedures.
To ensure the full implementation of the College’s quality assurance policies and procedures.
