Do you hold an Adult and Child DBS?
Are you a Health Care Assistant familular with PMLD children?
Do you have up to date Moving and Handling training?
A Health Care Assistant is required to support the nursing team with their duties that enable students with complex disabilities to engage with their normal day to day activities. This includes carrying out clinical interventions, recognising when a student becomes unwell and reporting to the registered nurses. Training in all the relevant skills will be provided.
There will also be an element of social care whereby you will be responsible for working alongside students in their bungalows and supporting the students in all aspects of daily living, including personal care.
Support key students in the classroom, including physical management and personal care
Be able to keep concise, comprehensive records
Have a good level of numeracy and literacy
Have excellent communication skills to liaise effectively and appropriately with students, staff, parents/carers and external agencies
Be aware of current theory and practice in relation to social care and support for children and young people who have special educational needs
Experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable along with up to date Moving & Handling training. A child & Adult DBS will be required as the pupils are aged 4 – 19 years.
