Job description of a Head of Food Technology Teacher

Head of Food Technology Teacher required to start in September at a secondary school based in Hertfordshire.

The ideal Head of Food Technology Teacher will be a knowledgeable and enthusiastic individual willing to assist the students and staff each step of the way.

Our client have put necessary systems in place in order to take the school up the ranks; they also expect to improve the grades within Food Technology as well as attitude from the students, and an element of this is ensuring they employ nothing but good calibre teachers.

If you are a talented and committed Food Technology Teacher willing to devote energy and creativity into drawing the best possible results from their students, then you are the individual in which the school is seeking. Also an essential skill which is required from the Head of Food Technology Teacher is the capability of effectively managing staff and the behaviour of students in addition to maintaining a hardworking atmosphere within the classroom.

This successful Head of Food Technology Teacher will require teaching experience in the UK and the existing ability to raise pupil's aspirations and improve achievements.

Inspected in October 2017 this school was rated as Good by Ofsted. The leadership team had maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.

  • Qualified teacher Status (QTS) or a UK recognised equivalent teaching qualification

  • Strong track record of raising levels of achievement and motivation

  • Ability to build strong relationships with children and parents

  • Support pupils to make progress through providing personalised experiences

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Be passionate and energetic

  • A valid DBS

  • The right to work in the UK
