Job Title: Receptionist/Front of School Manager
I have a school based in North London looking to recruit a Receptionist to lead the provision of an effective, high-quality front face of the school. You will be required to work 20/30 per week. 40 Weeks per year as a receptionist and report to the Bursar.
This is a “Good” school and will require someone with administration or receptionist experience that will be able to hit the ground running.

Hours will be: 

  • 1pm - 5pm 5 days a week

  • Term time only

  • May be flexible with extra hours in the evening 

As the Receptionist your responsibilities will be:
To make a substantial contribution to first response to telephone enquiries from parents, representatives of external agencies and companies and members of the public who call the school.
To welcome visitors to the school in a courteous and professional manner ensuring that they are directed to the appropriate member of staff promptly and, should they have to wait, that they are informed of the reason for any delay and reassured that the person they are waiting to see knows they are waiting and will attend to them.
To respond professionally to students who present themselves at Reception with requests or enquiries ensuring that their needs are met effectively and efficiently.
To make a substantial contribution to the management of students who arrive late, ensuring that their time of arrival is recorded accurately in accordance with attendance and punctuality procedures.
To train and supervise the work of student receptionists ensuring that their presentation and work are of a consistently high standard.
To be present and taking a lead role in welcoming guests and Governors to events which take place out of school hours.
Your admin duties will be to:
Organise a rota to ensure that the Reception is staffed at all times by staff that are committed to the ethos of the front-of-school role.
Keep accurate logs of visitors on site, students who are late, are signing out or who are out of lessons.
Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of accurate data in SIMs relating to all aspects of student records.
Ensure that the Reception is equipped with the necessary badges for issue to visiting teachers and that these are maintained in excellent condition.
Maintain a stock of Welcome Packs for visiting teachers (including supply teachers and Trainee teachers).
Liaison with others:
As a receptionist you will be working closely with PSA and Attendance administrator on matters relating to student attendance and punctuality and contribute actively to promote high levels of attendance and punctuality in students.
Work closely with the Site Management Team to ensure that contractors and other external agents working on site conform to the school's safeguarding procedures.
Work closely with the Resources team to ensure that deliveries of materials are signed for, logged and securely stored temporarily pending collection and distribution to the appropriate area of the school.
Work closely with teaching staff organising events out of school hours and take a lead role in ensuring that visitors to school-hosted events are greeted and welcomed in a manner which creates an excellent initial impression.
