TLTP are recruiting on behalf of a SEN School in Kent which caters for children with Autism and profound, severe and complex learning difficulties. They are seeking a KS2 SEN Teacher to start immediately on a full-time basis. There is the potential of this role leading to a permanent position.
Due to the nature of the role, this would be ideal for someone with experience of working in an SEN setting, or with a keen interest in working in an SEN school. Due to their needs, class sizes are much smaller, this class consists of 10 children aged 7-11 and support staff are there to assist, there are 4 TA's also in the classroom.
The school is an all age community special school for children with Profound, Severe and Complex learning difficulties, many of whom are on the Autistic Spectrum. Ridge View is the District Special School for Tonbridge and Malling and has places for up to 100 pupils aged 2 to 19 years old.
The school is located in Kent and sits on the same site as a mainstream primary and secondary school.
The successful candidate will be able to teach KS2 and be required to carry out the role of a permanent member of staff to include all planning, prepping and marking and attend meetings. They are seeking someone who is looking for a long term/permanent opportunity within an SEN setting. The school also has an outstanding award from OfSTED.
The job itself is a KS2 SEN Teacher looking after a class of 10. The children are aged 7-11 and have ASD (mildly) and EBD. You will need to be able to work as part of a team as there are also 4 TA's within the classroom.
- Have a QTS
- Have recent experience teaching within the UK.
- Have experience working with SEN children
- Be available full time from the start of the second term
- Have a patient, friendly and kind natured attitude
