Job Description

I am looking to recruit an EBD specialist to work on a 1:1 basis.
This is for a young man with extremely challenging behaviour, he has an attachment disorder and presents with many ADHD behaviours. He is also dyslexic. He has very challenging behaviour and wants to dominate anyone who works with him, so we will need a strong character who is trained in EBD and strategies to address attachment disorders. He will threaten and fight with other children (he has never hurt an adult).

The Teaching Assistant will work with him on a 1:1 basis and will be needed to support his dyslexia programme as well as his learning in class and out of class. They will also need to be able to adapt tasks so they are broken down in to short 5 minute bursts so the child can access them without reaching a high state of anxiety.

This is a long term agency role initially, however the school will continue to have posts coming up on a permanent basis as they are a growing school. They will also be looking in to an EHCP for this child, which then means if they are successful the role will be permanent at that point too. This particular school is graded Outstanding by Ofsted.

The school would like to arrange paid trial days to see how you connect with the child as soon as possible with a view to starting immediately.

If you feel you have the desired qualities and are looking for a new challenge please apply with an up to date CV.

Don’t forget TLTP’s Refer and Earn scheme. For every person you recommend that we place and meets our terms and conditions you will receive a referral bonus of £130 (subject to statutory deductions).
