The London Teaching Pool are recruiting for a complex needs school based in the South West London area. The school caters for children aged 3-16 years with moderate to profound complex needs. The school offers the opportunities to work as part of an amazing team and offers highly extensive training. This school caters for children with a wide variety of complex needs, they are based across two sites and they are well-established within the South West London area. The school aims to provide support to these children by providing high quality teachers and support staff to see them through their development.
SALARY: £60- £80 PER DAY
Full time, term time only, 39 weeks
Subject to skills & experience.
Long term, full time, term time only, has the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.
Vice Principal Primary/Secondary
To work with teachers and other pupil support staff to support the learning of pupils (primary and/or secondary) on an individual and small group basis.
Knowlege and Experience
To support individual pupils / small groups of pupils to be able to undertake successfully learning activities in and out of the classroom.
To support the ability of pupils to develop independent learning skills and improve their literacy and numeracy.
To promote positive behaviours amongst pupils in line with the schools’s ethos, vision and core values, and encourage them to exercise their own self-discipline.
To support the use of ICT in learning and help develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.
To participate in the planning and evaluation of learning activities with teachers and senior / higher level pupil support staff colleagues and provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour.
To help contribute to the assessment target setting, monitoring and review of pupils and their Personal Learning Plans (PLPs).
To participate in the school’s Performance Management process and in training and development opportunities.
English and Maths to G.C.S.E. Level 2 standard essential.
Previous experience of a Teaching Assistant type role in a primary, secondary, special school or Alternative Provision setting is desirable.
