A unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced SEN/ALG Administrator to join a successful Academy in Beckenham, Greater London has become available.
Key Areas of Responsibility
To manage the SEN register under the direction from the SSS Officer. This to include all updates of student information; input into Bromcom; IEP updates and EHCP administration;
To create analyses of behaviour data of SEN students from the statistics created by the behaviour team;
Under the direction of the SSS Officer, to manage the update of One Notes/ IEPs to ensure that records are accurate and up-to-date and that staff have access as appropriate;
To keep minutes of all SEN team meetings and SEN TA meetings, ensuring records are accurate and distributed promptly to the relevant personnel;
To manage ordering of all necessary resources for the SEN department, liaising with the finance team as appropriate;
To manage the filing of all paperwork pertaining to SEN students ensuring copies are in student files after having been read and actioned by the SSS Officer. This to include external reports; SSS Officer’s meeting minutes/ observation notes etc;
To organise the timetables of SEN students receiving support from external agencies (e.g SALT);
To ensure that all necessary paperwork for SEN requirements is copied/ replenished and accessible to relevant staff. This to include copying documents as required;
To ensure that all communication with external stakeholders is completed in a timely fashion, ensuring letters are accurate and coherent;
To organise any marketing required for events/ parent workshops or coffee mornings and organising catering;
o assist the SSS Officer with SEN data analysis; provision maps and associated costing;
To assist the SSS Officer to create Annual Review packs and High needs funding packs;
To complete any other general admin support to SSS Officer;
To send a weekly bulletin to ALG and the SEN team summarising key issues and actions regarding SEN students;
To present a professional and welcoming face of the Academy to all visitors, staff and students, including telephone callers.
To manage queries from parents/ carers and the general public with exemplary professionalism, ensuring that any messages or complaints are immediately forwarded to the appropriate member of staff;
To maintain an exemplary professional environment at all times;
To exercise complete discretion when dealing with issues of confidentiality and sensitivity;
To ensure that the SSS Officer is fully briefed on any matters that has been brought to attention via parental communication with the Academy.
To provide administrative support to Vice Principals as required. This to include collation of spreadsheets and excel analysis; letter writing; creating of documents and reports; liaising with parents; diary management as appropriate.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
GCSE mathematics and English at grade C or above and relevant level 3 qualification
Trained in the use of a variety of ICT packages
Knowledge of procedures for entering data on a central management information system
Basic training on CMIS systems including training
Professional Management qualification
At least a year working in school or educational establishment
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to manage budgets
Performance Management skills
Project Management skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Willingness to continue professional development
