Job Description

SLD/PMLD/ASD Teaching assistant needed in an SEN school in Havering Essex

I am looking for a highly experienced Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant who is available for an interview ASAP. You will need to have a background working with severe learning difficulties within a primary or secondary setting.

You will need to have experience working with ASD/SLD children and be require to help out where necessary in the school and also helping with feeding at lunch time. This role will involve personal care. If you have any experience in tube feeding then this is an advantage but not essential 

This position is full time and will become permanent for the right person.

Duties required:
  • You will be required to be committed to the development of both yourself and the pupils in your class.
  • You must be able to deliver outstanding teaching and learning alongside a multi-disciplinary classroom team.
  • You will need experience of taking the lead in your subject area and have clear ideas of how to achieve exceptional progress for students.
  • You will require the ability to ensure that your pupils fulfil their potential and that you are ambitious in your expectations of them.
  • You are required to possess the elements of a calm demeanour to be able to maintain a sense of humour under pressure
  • You must understand and be committed to safeguarding children.
