London Teaching Pool are currently recruiting for an outreach Teacher to work with secondary aged children in Redbridge. This is not a specialist SEN teaching role. The service are looking for someone from a mainstream back ground.

This role will be to start ASAP and will be a long term permanent placement .

This outreach Teaching position will involve teaching students in their homes and out in the community. Outreach Teachers need to teach low level English, Maths and Science to children who have been struggling in a mainstream environment. Some students cannot access mainstream school due to ill health or they have been excluded.

You must have has experience teaching either primary or secondary this can be either an SEN school or mainstream school. You do not need to be a qualified Teacher to apply.

To be a successful Outreach teacher you must have excellent behaviour/class management skills, knowledge of how to teach children/young people or have relevant experience as an Teacher working with a variety of pupils.

Person Specification The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years' experience in a classroom environment. You will also need to have the following:

Strong track record of raising levels of achievement and motivation

Excellent behaviour management skills

Be able to build positive relationships with young people and staff

Good knowledge/experience working with children within an SEN or mainstream environment

Be able to teach either primary or secondary students Be able to work well as a team

Have a big personality!

A valid DBS (preferably on update service)
