SEN / ASD Teaching Assistant - The Role

There is an SEN provision within this mixed mainstream secondary school. The provision caters specifically to autistic students aged between 11 and 16. The severity of autism varies from low level to severe within this unit. The successful SEN / ASD Teaching Assistant will be working within this dedicated autistic unit on both a 1 to 1 basis and also in small groups. There will always be a qualified SEN Teacher with you as well as other teaching assistant. TEAM TEACH training is desirable but not essential.

SEN / ASD Teaching Assistant - The School

This mixed mainstream secondary school is based in the heart of Newham, London. The school currently has 1415 pupils on roll aged between 11 and 16. The ASD provision currently has 14 students on roll. There is a Lead for the provision (qualified SEN Teacher) and several teaching assistants within this department. This school is located close to stations offering services on the District, Hammersmith & City and Jubilee Line therefore is easily accessible from most areas of London.
