Unqualified Outreach Tutor - Based in Basildon

TLTP are recruiting for an Instructor/Unqualified teacher to cover sickness with the Reintegration Team who go out to teach students in other schools, their homes or the library. Please see details below:

4 days a week Mon -Thursday 9-3

Outreach work in schools, students homes or on Microsoft teams

Experience of students with complex needs

Must have a car

Until 29th April 2022 but could be extended.

This SEMH outreach tutor position will involve teaching SEN students in the classroom and out in the community. Outreach tutors need to teach the UK Primary National Curriculum or GCSE to SEMH children who have been struggling in a mainstream environment.

You must have has experience in either primary or secondary this can be either an SEN school or mainstream school.

All of the students at this SEN school arrive with a statement of SEN known as an Education Care Plan. Most students have often missed education as a result of their behaviour (SEMH) or because of specific learning difficulties, they frequently arrive at this SEN school with comparatively low levels of prior attainment.

To be a successful SEN Outreach tutor you must have excellent behaviour/class management skills, knowledge of how to teach children/young people with SEN or have relevant experience as an tutor working with SEN pupils ideally.

Person Specification The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years' experience in a classroom environment. You will also need to have the following:

Strong track record of raising levels of achievement and motivation

Excellent behaviour management skills

Be able to build positive relationships with young people and staff

Team Teach or similar restraint training certificate

Good knowledge/experience working with children with SEMH within an SEN environment

Be able to teach either primary or secondary students with SEMH Be able to work well as a team

Have a big personality!
