Part Time Primary Classroom teacher

London Teaching Pool are currently recruiting for a part time SEN Teacher to work with primary aged children KS1 in an SEN school in Sydenham.

Part Time Primary Classroom teacher (Monday Wednesday) one year maternity cover only

Qualified teacher

May be required to come in for handover in July 2022 but definitely from September 2022

3 days per week only (currently Monday to Wednesday)

Maternity cover only one year

Responsibility for a class of KS1 pupils, supported by at least two TAs

Support from SLT and a Learning Practitioner

SEN experience preferred

Experience teaching younger pupils who have severe speech and communication difficulties

Experience of PECs, Makaton a bonus

UK qualified

All of the primary students at this SEN school arrive with a statement of SEN known as an Education Care Plan. Because the students have often missed education as a result of their behaviour or because of specific learning difficulties, they frequently arrive at this SEN school with comparatively low levels of prior attainment.

Person Specification The ideal candidate will have at least 1 years' experience in a classroom environment ideally. You will also need to have the following: - Strong track record of raising levels of achievement and motivation

- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS

- Excellent behaviour management skills

- Be able to build positive relationships with young people and staff

- Team Teach or similar restraint training certificate

- Good knowledge/experience working with children with complex needs within an SEN environment

- Be able to teach KS1 curriculum - Be able to work well as a team
