The course comprises four distinct learning modules.

In this course, you will develop a clear understanding of the fundamental principles of fire safety and the essential role of the fire marshal. You will explore the fire triangle, the conditions required for a fire to ignite and burn, and the key concepts of fire behaviour, including how fire spreads.

The course also introduces the legislation that governs fire safety and outlines the responsibilities of a fire marshal in maintaining a safe environment. You will learn the actions a fire marshal should take as part of an effective fire safety strategy, as well as how to identify the correct type of fire extinguisher for different classes of fire. Guidance is also provided on the safe and effective use of fire extinguishers.
