The course comprises four distinct learning modules.
In this course, you will develop a clear understanding of the fundamental principles of fire safety and the essential role of the fire marshal. You will explore the fire triangle, the conditions required for a fire to ignite and burn, and the key concepts of fire behaviour, including how fire spreads.
The course also introduces the legislation that governs fire safety and outlines the responsibilities of a fire marshal in maintaining a safe environment. You will learn the actions a fire marshal should take as part of an effective fire safety strategy, as well as how to identify the correct type of fire extinguisher for different classes of fire. Guidance is also provided on the safe and effective use of fire extinguishers.
This course is divided into three modules.
Module One: Introduction to Fire Safety
This module introduces the basic principles of fire and uses these concepts to explore key considerations for maintaining fire safety.
Module Two: Requirements of the Fire Marshal Role
This module focuses on the responsibilities of a fire marshal, including day-to-day duties and actions required during an evacuation.
Module Three: Fire Extinguishers
This module explores the different classes of fire and the five main types of fire extinguishers, highlighting which extinguisher types are most suitable for each class of fire.
