Salary:Outer London Pay Scale (£36,413 – £53,994) + TLR Allowance

We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Science to join a well-established secondary school in Havering from September 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a motivated teacher looking to lead and further develop a successful Science department.

The Role

• Lead and manage the Science department across KS3–KS5

• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and achievement

• Oversee curriculum planning and departmental strategy

• Support, mentor and develop teaching staff

• Monitor student progress and implement improvement strategies

• Contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Proven experience teaching Science at secondary level

• Previous leadership or departmental responsibility desirable

• Strong leadership and organisational skills

• Commitment to raising attainment and student outcomes

• Right to work in the UK
