Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary:£38,766 per annum (M1 – Inner London, in line with NASUWT pay scale)We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, for a motivated and enthusiastic Year 5 Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their team from September 2026 on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career in Upper Key Stage 2, within a supportive school environment that values collaboration, professional development, and high-quality teaching.
The role:
You will be responsible for a Year 5 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support pupils’ academic progress and personal development. You will work closely with experienced colleagues to ensure pupils are well-prepared for the transition into Year 6, while fostering independence and a love of learning.The school offers a comprehensive ECT induction programme, including mentoring, regular feedback, and professional development opportunities to support your growth as a teacher.
The school is looking for someone who:
- Is completing or has recently completed their PGCE or teacher training
- Has a strong interest in teaching Upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5)
- Is enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to high standards of teaching
- Has high expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
- Is reflective and keen to develop their classroom practice
- Works effectively as part of a team and contributes to the wider school community
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
