In this course, you will develop an understanding of autism and how it can affect pupils in the classroom. You will explore the legal requirements set out in the SEND Code of Practice and what these mean for inclusive, effective classroom practice. The course supports you in adapting learning environments and applying intervention strategies that promote inclusion and meet communication, social, behavioural, and sensory processing needs.
You will also examine the importance of positive relationships, strategies for reducing anxiety, and practical approaches to supporting pupils with sensory processing differences and sensory overload.
Across six modules, the course provides a clear framework for understanding autism and applying inclusive strategies confidently in educational settings.
