Description

Braille Support Worker urgently required to support VI students

Based  in East London

The successful candidate will have experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker working alongside younger adults or children with additional needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the sensory department, you will be working with a variety of learners and be expected to meet standards of work
  • Delivering support to learners
  • Extensive knowledge of Braille
  • Experience working with VI & disabilities
  • Early years, primary, secondary or adult experience

TLTP  and our schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all teachers and learning support assistants to share this commitment. Enhanced DBS checks are required for all successful applicants.

Requirements:

  • DBS registered to the update service
  • Experienced Learning Assistant or Support Worker with extensive knowledge of Braille
  • English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Braille or MOON
  • Flexible approach to working
  • Immediately available or January 2021
  • Excellent behaviour management
  • Current DBS on the update service
  • SEN Classroom experience
  • Working with primary or secondary aged students
  • Full UK driving License


This is a full time/long term position and will lead to permanent if successful.

  • SEN, complex needs
  • EBD
  • ASD
  • Personal care
  • Excellent behaviour management
  • Current DBS on the update service
  • SEN Classroom experience Extensive knowledge of Braille
  • Working with primary or secondary aged students
