SEN Teacher (SEMH) High Wycombe

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist school in High Wycombe, supporting students aged 11–18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require a tailored, nurturing, and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH

  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Develop strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional and behavioural development

  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently

  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals

  • Contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working with students with SEMH, SEN, or in a specialist setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience

  • A compassionate and patient approach to teaching

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
