A secondary school in Essex is seeking a Design Technology Teacher to join their team from April. This is a temporary opportunity with strong potential for the right candidate. The Head Teacher is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual who is eager to contribute to a creative, innovative, and forward-thinking Design & Technology department.
The school has built a reputation for having a hand on and approachable senior leadership team, with a clear focus on driving strong Progress 8 outcomes across the curriculum. There is a real commitment to doing things differently, staff are encouraged to trial fresh teaching approaches and share best practice, rather than stick rigidly to one style. Professional development is taken seriously, with tailored support and training available whether you’re newly qualified or more experienced. With several new initiatives underway, it’s a particularly interesting point to become part of the team.
For this Design Technology Teacher role, the school would ideally like someone with experience engaging KS3 and KS4 students, delivering both practical and theory-based lessons, maintaining high standards of health and safety, and confidently managing behaviour in the classroom.
Design Technology Teacher – The School
This 11–16 secondary school serves around 1200 students and has a close-knit, community feel where individuals are genuinely known and supported. There is a strong emphasis on inclusion, with staff working hard to ensure every student feels valued and able to succeed. The atmosphere across the school is purposeful yet warm, with a noticeable sense of pride from both students and staff, and a shared commitment to creating an engaging and encouraging place to learn and work.
